Intro: Donato D’Angelo was established in 2001 with the acquisition of about 20 hectares of vineyards located in the most classic production area of the AGLIANICO DEL VULTURE, including the municipalities of Barile, Ripacandida and Maschito.

The vineyards are 80% of the Aglianico variety with a percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon and Fiano.

The company, which is currently led by Filomena Ruppi and her husband Donato D'Angelo, who have been working in the family business for over four years (historical company in its area), has decided to turn its skills and Donato D'Angelo’s experience with this new company. Currently, the company's production is around 150,000 bottles which are exported to various European and non-EU countries.

Description: Donato D'Angelo DOC is a DOC wine produced from a selection of grapes from different vineyards located in the most typical area of Aglianico production, the Vulture. It was first produced with the 2000 vintage in 2003 when the oenologist, Donato D'Angelo, turned fifty.

Vinification: Vineyards with an average age of 40-50 years, 100% Aglianico.
GUYOT breeding has a density of 4,000 strains and is harvested between 15th and 30th of October. It is fermented in cement fermenters for about 10 days. Following the racking, and after a period of maturation, the wine passes into barrels where it remains for at least 18 months.

Flavours: This is ruby red with hints of red fruits and spicy notes of pepper. It has an excellent flavour with fine and complex tannins which are warm, long and persistent.
