Intro: Tenuta Buon Tempo lies in the extreme south of the Montalcino zone, surrounded by breathtaking countryside. The estate is in fact ‘embraced’ by the mountain range of the Tuscan Anti-Apennines (in which Monte Amiata towers above the rest) and by the Orcia river, the southern border of the Brunello appellation. Behind it lies the hill of Montalcino. The absolute tranquility and sense of wellbeing felt by the current owners inspired them when choosing a name for it: it simply had to be called “Tenuta Buon Tempo”.
After a long process of conversion, begun when Per arrived at Montalcino, in 2021 our official certification as an organic producer was received from Bioagricert. The company’s objective is to achieve total ecological sustainability by the end of 2030

Description: La Furba – “The Sly One” – like the fox who stole the Thanksgiving turkey the evening before the celebrations, under the noses of the whole family who were reunited for the occasion!

Vinification: 100% Sangiovese
It is vinified in a cocciopesto amphora containing 10hl, with 10% of whole bunches and the rest crushed and destemmed. Following its alcoholic fermentation using indigenous yeasts, the wine macerates on the skins for 6 months inside the amphora. It is removed from this container in mid-March and is then left to settle and clear naturally in a stainless-steel tank. Bottling takes place during the summer following the harvest.
The combination of whole bunches and an inert, porous container has given rise – in this original expression of Sangiovese – to an extraordinary purity.

Flavours: We decided to celebrate this animal by dedicating a wine to it: an aromatic, fruity Sangiovese, with a determined personality. One to be savored slowly.

Food Pairings: La Furba goes well with appetizers, substantial pasta and rice dishes, red meats, but also beetroot, cheeses, and grilled or root vegetables.
