Stock Status: Private Order Only Per Case / Size: 6 x 750ml Intro: Tenuta Buon Tempo lies in the extreme south of the Montalcino zone, surrounded by breathtaking countryside. The estate is in fact ‘embraced’ by the mountain range of the Tuscan Anti-Apennines (in which Monte Amiata towers above the rest) and by the Orcia river, the southern border of the Brunello appellation. Behind it lies the hill of Montalcino. The absolute tranquility and sense of wellbeing felt by the current owners inspired them when choosing a name for it: it simply had to be called “Tenuta Buon Tempo”. After a long process of conversion, begun when Per arrived at Montalcino, in 2021 our official certification as an organic producer was received from Bioagricert. The company’s objective is to achieve total ecological sustainability by the end of 2030 Description: The name given to our Brunello Selezione, “Oliveto P. 56”, derives from the number in the land registry of theplot of land on which our oldest vineyard lies, with vines that are approximately 25 years old, and from the name of the old farm, founded in the 1940s. From this vineyard, situated at 350 meters above sea level, only the smallest top-quality bunches are selected, to produce – following a painstaking process in the winery – a wine that is complex and elegant but also richly structured and long-lived, which represents to the full the level of quality of our terroir. Vinification: 100% Sangiovese Temperature-controlled vinification in stainless steel and fermentation with indigenous yeasts; long maceration (six weeks). Maturation for 3 years in large (20 and 35 hl) Slavonian oak casks. Finally, the wine clears naturally by settling in stainless steel and is then left to rest for a minimum of 18 months in bottle before release onto the market. Flavours: Color: Garnet, with highlights tending toward brick-red. Bouquet: It is vigorous and youthful on the nose, with notes of red fruits; balsamic yet ethereal. Flavor: Dry, perfectly well-balanced, full, fleshy, austere yet velvety, with a hint of oak from its aging in barrel. Food Pairings: Its ideal accompaniments are main courses of red meat and game. It is also excellent with cheeses, root vegetables, vegetable stews and Asian dishes. Serving temperature: 18-20° C Review: JAMES SUCKLING score: 94/100 points WINE ENTHUSIAST score: 91/100 points |
